Barbarian is looking for a seasoned strategic marketer to join our Account Management team as an Account Director on our largest and most versatile business, Samsung. The Account Director will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships - based on a thorough understanding of the client and agencies business objectives - while driving the strategy and growth of overall business.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear strategic leadership to internal teams to ensure all creative work aligns with client business needs and expectations
  • Partner with clients to develop their digital roadmap for short and long term communications and marketing plans; growing existing workstreams where possible
  • Lead client discussions to set goals and plan for future fiscal year(s)
  • Actively be involved in the work – creating content and understanding what is needed to be successful
  • Ensure teams are consistently delivering superior work and recognized for hitting goals
  • Champion and deliver quality creative work that is both strategic and breakthrough
  • Manage client expectations, objectives, and timelines actively and consistently
  • Advise senior agency management on the status of business, client relationships and specific opportunities or problems
  • Develop and negotiate proposals and budgets, making modifications and arranging contract signings
  • Work closely with Finance on forecasting, billing, and reconciling fee and budgets
  • Oversee, inspire and motivate teams, working closely with lead discipline counterparts
  • With account associate support, ensure all projects are prioritized and staffed appropriately across the business and SOWs are documented, accurate, and implemented
  • Recognize, work through and resolve conflict situations (internally and externally)
  • Develop team members through coaching, training and identifying areas for growth

Requirements

  • 9+ years of account management and/or marketing experience in an integrated marketing and/or digitally led marketing capacity
  • 2+ years of experience as an Account Director working with large organizations
  • Experience in the B2B and MarTech spaces
  • An advanced understanding of complex digital ecosystems; website design and builds, social landscape, content strategy and production timelines
  • Thorough knowledge of the dynamics of digital and interactive. How each digital and interactive element performs alone, together and how they are constantly changing
  • Ability to use analytical approaches to solve digital/interactive/marketing problems
  • Model expert presentation skills that encourage participation and desired outcomes
  • Ability to add structure and process when project plan is unclear/undefined
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • An independent work ethic and drive; you are known for ‘gettin’ it done and done well’
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor
  • Superpower ability to ‘read-the-room’ and direct conversations with clients and internal teams, as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel up 50%, domestically.
