Barbarian has an open position for a Senior Strategist, Content and Communications.

In this role, the Senior Strategist will lead the strategic development of content marketing programs across digital platforms. Your deep understanding of the digital and social space paired with insights and/or trends will inform the strategic development for fully integrated, innovative approaches.

We are looking for a strategic thinker and a creative storyteller, who can champion Barbarian’s work, culture and process. You are positive, proactive and naturally at home in an organic, collaborative environment.

What you do...

  • Partner in strategic development of creative ideas by providing insights based on data, digital behavior, social listening, emerging platform trends and best practices
  • Champion and sell strategic campaigns and creative ideas to clients
  • Lead development of social and digital content strategies from briefing to final reporting, leveraging client inputs, social media monitoring, competitive analysis, and secondary research
  • Maintain awareness of the latest emerging tech and digital trends, as well as looking for opportunities to innovate and develop completely new techniques
  • Organize campaign results and findings into presentations for clients and team members
  • Craft positioning statements, refine unique perspectives, and evolve presentation decks
  • Work closely with internal teams to execute agency social media strategy
  • Work with account team to identify growth opportunities with clients
  • Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to support the team’s growth and performance

What you need...

  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience - - agency or brand-side- with an emphasis on social strategy, and or/content development
  • Experience leading client relationships in partnership with the account team
  • Has proven experience creating and implementing social media or integrated digital marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated and proven knowledge of major and emerging social channels, specific rules of engagement for brands/advertisers, and general platform policies
  • Success in presenting strategic solutions and POVs that engage consumers and build brands in digital and social channels
  • An understanding of paid social media strategies and planning as well as how it can be applied to maximize impact
  • The ability to translate customer data into actionable insights to inform the creative strategy
  • Experience with listening & reporting tools like Crimson Hexagon, Synthesio and Sysmos
  • Professional and enthusiastic communication and collaboration with team and clients
