Associate Project Manager

Barbarian is seeking a driven Associate Project Manager to help maintan one of the largest pieces of business at our agency.

The Associate Project Manager will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to design, develop and deliver technology solutions and services.

What You Do: 

  • Manage multiple small to medium scale fast-paced projects with short turnarounds
  • Learn how to manage and be an expert in handling workflow and tickets for a team of developers, content authors and web designers to ensure deadlines and client needs are met
  • Become a digital advisor, client advocate internally and an agency advocate with client - this comes with practice and time
  • Prioritize incoming client requests, and respond quickly but thoughtfully (think through before doing). Pro-actively communicate the status of those requests to the clients as work is completed within the process framework
  • Develop and thrive in a highly flexible, adaptive, creative, collaborative and interdepartmental environment
  • Become an expert in monitoring project resource allocation, hours and burn reports and provide on-going project risk management
  • Work with creative, technical, UX and strategy leads from the earliest concept stage forward, to ensure the project is on time, budget, and on brief 
  • Support senior project managers and project managers in timeline and budget to ensure proposed concepts are executable
  • Describe oneself as a “do-er” and “planner” create a track record in project and time/budget management
  • Learn how to articulate digital solutions and/or processes in a simple and engaging way (both internally and client-side) through shadowing and in practice

What You Need: 

  • 1-2 years of project management within a digital agency or digital marketing team
  • Strength in creatively problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Experience with small to medium scale development and enterprise content management systems (CMS), especially AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) and Teamsite
  • Knowledge of Jira
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript capabilities
  • Ability to learn how to identify gaps in process (development, QA or tagging) and define solutions
  • Basic knowledge of UX best practices
  • An independent work ethic and drive and know when to escalate to higher ups
  • Strong organizational, communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A passion for all things Internet
  • A DO IT NOW mentality
