Senior User Experience Designer (Freelance)

New York, United States Contract

Our client, a major technology company, is revamping its online customer service efforts. To help, we are building a swat team of experienced professionals to consolidate, streamline and redefine customer service content and processes to provide great customer service now, and better scaling in the future. To this end we need a seasoned Senior User Experience Designer to create the right solutions quickly and efficiently.



  • Are both strategic and tactical, passionate about building exceptional interactions for customers through clear, creative and proven user interfaces and equally passionate about creating the larger ecosystem which matches business needs to customer needs
  • Need to foster participation by all stakeholders in the user centered design process including conducting workshops, interviews and small scale concept research.
  • Will create deliverables at varying levels of fidelity: from quickly communicating a concept’s value proposition to final specifications delivered to a developer.
  • Command a broad, as well as deep, skill set including information architecture, interaction flows, wireframes, screen mockups, interactive demos, and UI specifications. You will be designing enterprise customer service and applications for many protocols including web, mobile, CMS frameworks, and database driven functionality.


We are looking for...

  • 6 to 10+ years of User Experience practice.
  • Formally trained in UX Design, HCI, research, and information architecture.
  • Ability to express a brand through functionality design.
  • An understanding of architecture skills (IA and UI), visual design sensibilities and how all disciplines must exist together to create experience design solutions.
  • Ability to translate high level objectives and requirements into interaction flows and information architecture artifacts including wireframes, state change diagrams, and content mapping models
  • Ability to create clickable prototypes and functional specifications.
  • Experience with user research, both small scale and large.
  • Strong knowledge of usability principles.
  • Knowledge of online coding limitations and capabilities including but not limited to front end and back end technologies including good comprehension of CMS architecture and relational database structure and behavior.
  • Ability to run usability tests, conduct interviews and site visits, organize surveys, and any other usability assessments deemed appropriate
