Account Director

Barbarian is looking for a fearless and strategic marketer to join our Client Engagement team as an Account Director, leading the charge on a few of our brand new accounts. The Account Director will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, while driving the strategy and growth of overall business.

What You Do..

  • Provide clear strategic leadership to internal teams to ensure all creative work strategically aligns with client business needs and expectations
  • Partner with clients to develop their digital roadmap for short and long term communications and marketing plans. Grows existing accounts where possible
  • Lead client discussions to set goals and plan for future fiscal year(s)
  • Actively be involved in the work – creating content and understanding what is needed to be successful
  • Ensure team is consistently delivering superior work and praised for hitting goals
  • Champion and deliver quality creative work that is both strategic and breakthrough
  • Manage client expectations, objectives, and timelines actively and consistently
  • Advise senior agency management on the status of each business, client relationships and specific opportunities or problems
  • Negotiate proposals and budgets, making modifications and arranging contract signings
  • Work closely with Finance on forecasting, billing, and reconciling fee and budgets
  • Oversee, inspire and motivate teams, working closely with lead discipline counterparts
  • With Account Manager support, ensure all projects are prioritized and staffed appropriately across accounts and SOWs are documented, accurate, and implemented
  • Recognize, work through and resolve conflict situations (internally and externally)
  • Develop team members by coaching, training and identifying areas for growth

What You Need...

  • 4+ years of account management experience in digital advertising
  • 7+ years of marketing or agency experience
  • An advanced understanding of social landscape, website design and builds, content strategy and production timelines
  • Thorough knowledge of the dynamics of digital and interactive. How each digital and interactive element performs alone, how they perform together and how they are constantly changing
  • Ability to use analytical approaches to solve digital/interactive/marketing problems
  • Model strong presentation skills that encourage participation and desired outcomes
  • Ability to add structure and process when project plan is unclear/undefined
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • An independent work ethic and drive
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor
