We are looking for an eager, passionate and strategic thinker to join Barbarian as our newest Community Manager.

The Community Manager will play an important role as a social media specialist, influencer liaison,  and community advocate on an integrated marketing team. We need someone who can step in, take responsibility, and very quickly understand the brand you work on and begin contributing.

What You Do

  • Be the go-to expert for any and all things community for the cross-functional team you work with
  • Manage all social content through cycle - from brief to scheduling to publishing
  • Be the go-to expert for all things social media (communities, platforms, etc) and social influencer, in partnership with our Social Growth Manager
  • Proactively manage social influencer & content creator networks, identifying new opportunities for partnerships to amplify our client’s brand
  • Monitor all community activity to keep a pulse on overall interests and sentiment
  • Partner with analytics for all performance reporting to provide context and insight to performance reports against pre-defined KPIs
  • Prepare presentations and be comfortable presenting to clients, agency partners and internal team members

Who You Are

  • Social Media Savvy. You are active on every social platform (especially Twitter & Instagram) and deeply understand influencer marketing and mindset. You can explain how each platform is different from each other. You think about things in cleverly short social-post statements and hashtags.
  • Opinionated. You have an opinion on which brands are killing it with their social media efforts and who is failing and can articulate why.
  • Online. You have a deep understanding of social media communities, and are an active participant in them. You have thoughts on the best meme accounts, YouTube channels, tweets, and TikTok challenges, and are always looking out for what will trend next.
  • Detail-Oriented. You check everything you do two, three times and strive for excellence in everything you do.
  • Observant. You never miss a beat on anything that goes on around you. You have always had a knack for reading people and understanding the context of situations.
  • Self-Motivated. You are confident and never shy away from a challenge. You work well with teams and direction, but know how to adapt and figure out how to solve problems on your own as well.
  • Music, Audio, and Gaming nerd. You are in-the-know on all music, audio, and gaming trends. You use all of the above traits to amplify your knowledge in this space and find interesting ways to bring it to clients.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in marketing, journalism or communication or similar
  • Experience interning for a digital marketing agency or major brand
  • An independent work ethic and drive and know when to escalate to higher ups
  • Strong organizational, communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
