Social Media Manager / Social Growth Manager

The Social Media Manager / Social Growth Manager is responsible for identifying strategic growth opportunities across social platforms, partnerships, and audiences and managing the execution of related programs. This client-facing role marries a social creative strategy practice with the more tactical elements of influencer marketing, community management, and growth marketing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own influencer marketing program at Barbarian, including end-to-end campaign management—from sourcing talent and managing relationships, to creating briefs and amending contracts to reporting on impact 
  • Act as a brand steward, managing and assisting with daily community management functions, and set the tone for the brand’s identity while a Community Manager executes it
  • Collaborate with a team of writers, designers, strategists, and account leads to align on product priorities and content calendar needs—to ensure brand consistency along the way
  • Support the brand’s existing social channels and help stand up new ones, from writing copy and wrangling assets to scheduling posts and reporting on numbers
  • Track and communicate social activity, partnership management, etc. in weekly meetings; drive presentations / check-ins with company leadership
  • You will proactively brainstorm creative marketing ideas and ways to capitalize on untapped channels.
  • Translate customer data, transaction history and user behavior insights into tactical and strategic recommendations to move the business forward.
  • Select, negotiate contracts, and partner with digital agencies and vendors to support business needs  

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience as a social media manager for a major brand(s) that's well respected in the social space
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients 
  • A team player with no ego who is eager to learn and become the best growth marketer you can be
  • Always-on mentality
  • Sound judgement and experience creating content without starting a Twitterstorm 
  • You have a deep understanding of internet culture and how virality happens
  • You not only understand how to follow brand guidelines, but can help drive the appropriate tone and strategy
  • Knowledge of social media management tools (Social Studio, Hootsuite, Percolate, etc.) 
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver on influencer and social media strategy
  • Experience in non-endorsement deals, as well as multifaceted talent engagements a plus
  • Tapped into the pulse of audio and music—you are in-the-know on all music and audio trends. You use all of the above traits to amplify your knowledge in this space and find interesting ways to bring it to clients.
  • Strong knowledge base and experience with social, content, event, and brand PR activations and measurement
